About Pamela

This is a great place to add a tagline.

Pamela’s first encounter with music lessons was through Yamaha group classes. This enticing recreational sunday outing was a prelude to ascending the rungs of ABRSM piano exams. The cello was one of her first teenage crushes that she dabbled with for a few years, before deciding that the piano was her primary love.

She always loved listening to music but admittedly had a conflicted relationship to practicing and was exceedingly self-conscious when it came to performing. After completing her undergraduate degree at the National University of Singapore and while pursuing graduate studies in Los Angeles, she decided to embark on her piano pedagogy journey. Starting as an undergrad once again, she eventually graduated with a Master of the Arts (distinction) at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg.

Having lived in Austria for close to 10 years, she immersed herself in chamber music and song recitals, opera performances, and masterclasses at summer academies. Her affinities lie within the Austro-Germanic and French musical traditions. She remains deeply grateful to her mentor Dr. Jordan Rashkov and her professors Andreas Weber and Thomas Böckheler for imparting interpretative, musical and pedagogical wisdom, as well as rigorous practice methods.

Pamela loves to travel, read, watch films, cook Indian and Japanese food, take long walks in nature, and practice yoga. Above all, she remains a student-explorer at heart and in spirit. She sees the process of music-making itself as a teacher in inculcating the values of humility, patience, adaptability, conscious intention, and mindful presence.
